If you’ve accidentally lost your owner’s manual, you can easily find it published on online platforms.
Step 3: Hold down the Reset Button

These simple steps will successfully reset your AC unit. If you’re still facing issues with your system, you can try other methods to reboot the system. Other methods are discussed below.
Isolator Switch Reset
You may have heard about the Isolator switch which is present for extra safety during the maintenance and repair process. It differs from a circuit breaker whose purpose is to cut the electric supply in case of overcurrent. You can reset and restart it to troubleshoot your AC. To reset your AC from the isolator switch, follow these steps.
Step 1: Locate the Isolate Switch
The isolator switch is present near the outdoor condenser unit of the AC. It is designed as a lever (V-shaped) on the condenser unit. But in conventional units, it is situated as a traditional switch.
Split ACs may have their isolator switch near the indoor air handler. In case of any trouble finding the switch, you can consult your manufacturer’s manual for better understanding.
Step 2: Turn the Lever off
After finding the isolator switch, you have to turn it down by moving it to the “off” position. This action will disconnect power to the AC unit.
Step 3: Wait for a few minutes
Once you’ve turned off the lever, you have to wait for 30 minutes. This will help discharge all the electrostatic charge from air conditioner components.
Step 4: Turn on the Switch
Now you just have to turn the switch on again. It will restore the power to your Ac unit and your AC will start without a problem.
Resetting your Circuit Breaker
Your Circuit Breaker protects your AC components in case of any overcurrent. Your AC may not be working because your circuit breaker tripped due to an electric surge. You can troubleshoot your AC circuit breaker by following these simple steps:

Step 4: Wait for some time
Now you have to wait for at least 60 seconds before turning it on again. This brief pause will result in stabilizing of the circuits.
Step 5: Turn on the Circuit Breaker
After a short while, turn it on gain. You have to push it firmly so it is stable in its place. Make sure you’re pushing it in the correct direction. Now test it after a minute whether it stays in its place or not.
Step 6: Turn on the Appliance
Turn on the appliance you turned off before and turn on the thermostat. Now turn on your air conditioner, and set a certain temperature for your thermostat to check the working of the air conditioner. If you notice cool air coming out of air vents, it means that your unit is working now.
If your unit is still not working, then there may be a problem with your thermostat. In that case, you will have to understand how to check the HVAC thermostat.
What if it still doesn’t work?
